Concert updates / lineups - Summer ‘08

Posted on 25 March 2008 by Dan

It has truly been A Long December for those of us residing in the North-Midwest and after a record setting winter of weekly snow and subzero temperatures I am seeking summer like never before. From a music perspective the winter was blazing with great live shows, but as is true with most things, the best is yet to come. Take a gander at the impressive lineup of concerts coming to the Milwaukee / Chicago area in the upcoming spring (as if such a season existed in Wisconsin) and summer months ahead. And toss a little music festival known as Lollapalooza between Buffett and Dave for good measure.

We endorse Lolla, Chicago, and Animoto

Most of the writers for Saynoradio reside in the Chicago/Milwaukee area, and we all met up for Lollapalooza last year - an unforgettable weekend of music by the lake.
Here is quick video recap produced with Animoto (which is ridiculous - check it out). See you at Lolla 2008…

Girl Talk rotoscoped!

Posted on 10 March 2008 by Dan

If you’ve seen the film A Scanner Darkly then you’re well aware of the digital editing technique known as “rotoscoping”. But judging by box office sales, you have not, so let’s refer to Wikipedia:Rotoscoping is an animation technique in which animators use computers to trace over live-action film movement, frame by frame, in order to create a matte for an element on a live-action plate so it may be composited over another background.

Sounds so basic, right?? So why am I telling you this? Well, yesterday I stumbled upon an incredibly well done video of all-star mash-up dj Girl Talk that will totally knock your socks off. Check this out:
