Concert updates / lineups - Summer ‘08

Posted on 25 March 2008 by Dan

It has truly been A Long December for those of us residing in the North-Midwest and after a record setting winter of weekly snow and subzero temperatures I am seeking summer like never before. From a music perspective the winter was blazing with great live shows, but as is true with most things, the best is yet to come. Take a gander at the impressive lineup of concerts coming to the Milwaukee / Chicago area in the upcoming spring (as if such a season existed in Wisconsin) and summer months ahead. And toss a little music festival known as Lollapalooza between Buffett and Dave for good measure.

Concert updates / lineups - Winter ‘08

Posted on 10 January 2008 by Dan

Allow me to begin by reciting a quote from the avant-garde artist, Andy Warhol: “An artist is somebody who produces things that people don’t need to have.” Now, I really don’t want to wax philosophic, but I can say for certain that anyone who prizes music knows not only how important but necessary it is to have. Music has enriched the lives of millions and there is nothing more capable of bringing people together than a live concert. That being said, check out the awesome lineup of indie shows (which are apparently out of chronological order) coming soon to Chicago. I’d say that it’s going to be a good year! concerts2

Concert updates / lineups - Fall ‘07

Posted on 04 October 2007 by Dan

In astonishing fashion, it appears as though the best is still yet to come after an amazing summer (see Blake’s last post for insider details) that was filled with a bevy of great live shows. After kicking things off with Bloc Party at the Pabst Theater here in Milwaukee last month, we checked out Mason Jennings at Shank Hall last week. Both shows were incredible to say the least. Looking ahead to the fall and winter months, activity in the Milwaukee and Chicago indie music scene is more alive than ever. See below for details and check back for concert reviews after this forthcoming bender that will include Fujiya & Miyagi and Tokyo Police Club in Chicago, as well as Spoon and Wilco back in Milwaukee. Sweet!
